La FISU destaca los 100 años de la Liga en Uruguay
La Federación Internacional del Deporte Universitario, (FISU), ha publicado en su sitio web un informe que destaca algunos de los eventos llevados adelante por la Liga Universitaria de Deportes tras cumplir los 100 años de vida. Entre ellos, la FISU, destaca la mención en la sesión del senado, la fiesta de los 100 años en el Parque de la Liga con la entrega de premios y el lanzamiento del libro de los 100 años.

A Year of Celebrations for the NUSF of Uruguay

MONTEVIDEO – The University Sports League of Uruguay looks back at a year of celebrations. Indeed, last year, in 2013, the ‘Liga Universitaria de Deportes’, the National University Federation of Uruguay, celebrated its 100th anniversary with a series of festivities which started with an academic session during which renowned historians discussed about the beginnings of the University Sports League.
Festivities in the Sports Park
In December, the senate of the Republic solemnly paid tribute to the centenary anniversary of the NUSF. The festivities continued with a fantastic activity day in a Sports Park with more than 1,000 participants who attended various recreational activities.
At the same time a book was published «100 años de vida y deporte» (100 years of life and sport) to commemorate the activities of university sport in Uruguay.
Finally on 5 May, closing the centenary celebrations, in the street where the University League was created in 1914 a commemorative plate was revealed.
